No Swimming. I took a deep dive into my archives for this image since I was unable to get out and shoot today. From August of last year, this was taken along the lakefront in Chicago. I found it interesting the “No Swimming” sign right in front of a ladder to the water. Day 355 of my…… Continue reading No Swimming

Buckingham Fountain
When you are in Chicago, a visit to the Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain in Grant Park is a must. Built in 1927, the mutli-tiered ornate fountain is one of the largest in the world. Throughout the day, every hour on the hour, the top center jet shoots water 150 feet into the air. And starting at…… Continue reading Buckingham Fountain
Aqua Tower
The Aqua Tower in downtown Chicago is one of the most unique skyscrapers I’ve ever seen. Looking up, the facade seems to roll and move like waves because of the irregularly-shaped concrete balconies. Some of which jut out as much as 12 feet! The rolling overhangs and proximity to Lake Michigan, is where the building got its name. Day…… Continue reading Aqua Tower
Recessed Lighting
When I’m out shooting, I try to not only zoom out and capture everything but I will get in close and get the small details. Like this shot of recessed lighting. This is part of the Frank Gehry designed BP bridge in Chicago’s Millennium park. It spans Columbus Drive, connecting the park to Maggie Daley Park…… Continue reading Recessed Lighting
The Windy City
What a day in the Windy City! After well over 10 miles of walking, photographing everything along the way, a couple of great meals, a few tasty beverages, and lots of sunburns and blisters, we ended our day sitting on the breakwater near the Adler Planetarium watching the sun go down behind the city of Chicago. …… Continue reading The Windy City
The Chicago Skyline
The Chicago Skyline from the Adler Planetarium. Since I am spending this day shooting with friends in Chicago, I thought I’d share an image I took the last time was there last August. I was there for the Trey Ratcliff Tour Across the USA photo walk along with a couple hundred of my closest friends.…… Continue reading The Chicago Skyline
The Chicago Elevated
It has been a couple of years since I’ve taken a ride on the Chicago Elevated. And a bit longer than that since I took this photo. (July, 2011) But tomorrow I will be back in old Chi-Town to meet some great friends and spend the entire day shooting the city. It is interesting that…… Continue reading The Chicago Elevated
