Schoolhouse 1895
Whenever I go camping, I try to take backroads to and from the campgrounds. You never know what hidden gems you may find.
The Parking Garage

No More Spark
This old Champion sticker rests in a window at Joe’s Super Service, an abandoned service station along state highway 60 in Rubicon, Wisconsin.
Shards from the Past
Just north of the Locust Street bridge along the east side of the Milwaukee River, once stood the River Colony. These shards of coffee cups, bottles, plates are some of the very few items left of this very unique neighborhood.
Forgotten Room

Abandoned School House and a Comfy Chair
I originally shot this old school house interior and broken chair back in March of 2012. My wife and I were taking the backroads in northern Illinois somewhere near Rockford when we passed this old building. Of course, I immediately hit the brakes and turned around and started shooting.
Out of Service
This fire hydrant, long out of service, is all that remains on the site of an industrial complex along the river in Milwaukee’s East Side neighborhood.
Lost and Alone
I often wonder what stories these old abandoned homes could tell.
