Fretboard

I wanted to find an interesting shot of my son’s Hohner Ukulele and thought the fretboard would be cool.  So I slapped my nifty 50 onto my macro extension tube, placed it in front of my desk lamp – the only light in the shot – and shot hand held.  I knew I wanted to process the image with some grain, so shooting at a higher ISO made no difference to me.

Of all the shots, I feel this one made the uke look kind of bad-ass – like a heavy metal ukelele!

Emotion. Mood. Feelings. This is what I capture through my photographs. Whether it is landscapes, architectural elements, still life, or macros - it is a very personal journey as my own fears, triumphs, beliefs, and shortcomings are exposed with each photo. In the end, it is all about telling compelling stories.
