I originally framed this as a much tighter shot.  However, I really liked the play of the negative white space against color pop of the bright red petals.  And, of course, if you’ve followed some of my recent work, you know I love the minimalist look at the moment.  I tried several compositional variations, but placing the blossom in the lower right just felt right.

Emotion. Mood. Feelings. This is what I capture through my photographs. Whether it is landscapes, architectural elements, still life, or macros - it is a very personal journey as my own fears, triumphs, beliefs, and shortcomings are exposed with each photo. In the end, it is all about telling compelling stories.
