The Parking Garage

The road twisted down into the open mouth of the parking garage.  Slow. Slow. Slowly descending into the earth.  We would be out of the searing sun and the heart of the day, no doubt.  But what of the dangers that lurked below? There was only one way to find out.  Down. down. Downward into the blackness.

Day 299 of my 365 photo a day project.

Parking Garage at the End of the World

As you can see below from my RAW file, it was not the end of the world.  But it was still creepy standing on top of an almost empty parking structure in the middle of a hot day.  And there was definitely an apocalyptic vibe in the air.   As a result, I thought of the classic 70’s movie, Damnation Alley.  While I knew it would not happen, I was still quite happy the mutant giant scorpions or the hoards of flesh eating cockroaches did not make an appearance.  😉

This image and most of the others from this project are available as prints and digital downloads.  You can also check out the rest of my portfolio here.  And don’t forget to subscribe to the blog so you don’t miss anything.

Emotion. Mood. Feelings. This is what I capture through my photographs. Whether it is landscapes, architectural elements, still life, or macros - it is a very personal journey as my own fears, triumphs, beliefs, and shortcomings are exposed with each photo. In the end, it is all about telling compelling stories.
