Veil of Memory

Veil of Memory
Veil of Memory

As I inch ever closer to a half century on this Earth, I’m reminded more and more how fragile memory can be. Whether it is forgetting where I put my keys or trying to think of what’s-his-name that sat next to me in home room back in grade school, the older I get the more I notice.  It is highly likely that nothing has changed in my mind.  It may be just perception brought on by another birthday and one step closer to that inevitable end.

Yet whatever is going on between my ears, I choose to not dwell on the things I cannot control.  If my mind slips and memory fails, so be it.  Life will continue on the other side of that veil.  So for now, it’s best to focus on the present – the here and now – and enjoy what is in front of me today.

Day 275 of my 365 photo a day project.

Emotion. Mood. Feelings. This is what I capture through my photographs. Whether it is landscapes, architectural elements, still life, or macros - it is a very personal journey as my own fears, triumphs, beliefs, and shortcomings are exposed with each photo. In the end, it is all about telling compelling stories.
