When you are in Chicago, a visit to the Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain in Grant Park is a must. Built in 1927, the mutli-tiered ornate fountain is one of the largest in the world. Throughout the day, every hour on the hour, the top center jet shoots water 150 feet into the air. And starting at dusk, the hourly water works are accompanied by a spectacular light and music display. It is well worth the visit plus you’ll find tons of wonderful things to do and see in the area around the park.
Shooting the fountain at high noon, like I did here, is not recommended. But you have to take what you get when you get it! It was a very bright and mostly cloudless day, so I added a few clouds to add interest to the sky. Then I processed the image to give it an old-time vintage postcard feel.
Day 268 of my 365 photo a day project.
