Quiet Stream

This quiet stream is at the Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary in West Bend, Wisconsin.  My family and I spent the day there exploring and enjoying the quiet of a crowd-free weekday visit.  The menagerie of animals included a wide variety of deer and elk, bison, a cougar, bobcats, foxes, raccoons, bear, mountain goats, emu, camels, llamas, and many more I can’t remember.  And while I did get closer to an elk and a llama (literally face to face) than I ever thought I would, not one of the animals was kind enough to take direction, strike a pose,  and stand still long enough for me to capture its portrait!   This stream, however, gladly agreed to allow me to run off a few shots.

Day 217 of my 365 photo a day project.

Emotion. Mood. Feelings. This is what I capture through my photographs. Whether it is landscapes, architectural elements, still life, or macros - it is a very personal journey as my own fears, triumphs, beliefs, and shortcomings are exposed with each photo. In the end, it is all about telling compelling stories.
