Two squares of lentils – black and red – on a white paper background. The inspiration for this photo came from the dinner table. (Go figure!) We had Indian Mojadra – a dish with lentils, rice, and caramelized onions. Do yourself a favor and make it sometime. It is, hands down, my favorite vegetarian dish. And this is coming from a devout meat-eater! The recipe we used is from the Feeding the Whole Family cookbook. It is aimed at families with small children – and we have a two year old – but even if you don’t have kids, it still has some great meals.
The shot itself was very simple to shoot and to process. The two sets of lentils were placed on the copy stand and set into squares with the help of a metal ruler. To process, I adjusted the brightness and color slightly, sharpened a bit using On1 Photo 10, and straightened the frame. That’s it. Hmmm, I think I’ll go get the leftovers out of the fridge.
Day 204 of my 365 photo a day project.
