Holding On

“Don’t rush me just this once
I want to make this moment last
Slow down the pace, there’s no hurry
I can’t let another pass me by again
Let me be the one to say when I’ve had enough”
–from the song “Hold On” by Santana

This last little leaf was one of only a handful that still had not taken that last dying leap to the ground below – holding on, hoping to make the season last just a bit longer.

Shot on a cold, windy, and wet day in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

The image was 7 shots, focus stacked,  and processed in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop,  utilizing plugins from On1, Nik Effects, and Topaz Labs.

Emotion. Mood. Feelings. This is what I capture through my photographs. Whether it is landscapes, architectural elements, still life, or macros - it is a very personal journey as my own fears, triumphs, beliefs, and shortcomings are exposed with each photo. In the end, it is all about telling compelling stories.
