Clash of Seasons

Clash of Seasons

“Beauty is the only thing that time cannot harm. Philosophies fall away like sand, creeds follow one another, but what is beautiful is a joy for all seasons, a possession for all eternity.”
–Oscar Wilde

A Bird in the Hand

A Bird in the Hand

This is my take on the old saying “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.”  Which, to me, means it is better to see and appreciate what you have rather than think about and worry about what you do not.

Shot with my son’s wooden blue-feathered bird friend in the palm of my hand.

Lamp Lite Motel

Lamp-Lite Motel

This is the Lamp-Lite Motel (or at least the sign) along US 51 in Portage, Wisconsin.   Now, I have to say up front, I’ve done just a wee bit of work on this one (see below).  Taken in June of last year and finally processed today, I was driving toward Baraboo looking for a particular waterfall to photograph.   At 60mph, I was almost even with the sign before I even saw it.

Backyard Leaves

Backyard Leaves

“As fall the light autumnal leaves, one still the other following, till the bough strews all its honors on the earth below.”
–Dante Alighieri

A carpet of fallen Maple leaves cover the ground in our backyard.
