This fire hydrant, long out of service, is all that remains on the site of an industrial complex along the river in Milwaukee’s East Side neighborhood. The warehouse (see it here) that stood empty and decaying on this spot, was torn down last year and the land reclaimed as parkland. It is now part of the Urban Ecology Center.
